Training ...
So long time no post. I thought I had posted fairly recently, but I guess it's actually been over a month.
Two big things have happened since the last post. I raced in Temecula earlier in October on a 25 mile course where we all had to do two laps. Was cool to see guys like Tinker, Manny and Doug Andrews out racing. I got fourth out of 24 racers in my category (sport).
The winner was a guy I've seen at various races and he told me it was his first ever first place finish. Good for him!
The second big thing is the trainer.
I went and got a bike fit and the guy that did the fit also gave me some drills to do on a trainer. Well I didn't have a trainer, so I went out and bought one.
So far it's been interesting. I've been working on making my pedal stroke smoother and I find that it is stretching me in strange ways. My legs generally feel pretty crappy two days after an hour on the trainer doing drills. Not sure if that's because I'm doing them wrong or if I'm doing them right and that's just what happens.
The next big move for the winter is to buy a road bike. I'm trying to take this off season a little more seriously this year. I want to focus on training and do some things I've been too lazy to do in the past. We'll see if it pays off for Vision Quest.
