Whoa. Big Update.
Man it's been a long time since I've posted. There really hasn't been a lot going on, so there hasn't been much to post about.
My new job keeps me from having a lot of free time to post, so I generally don't think about posting as much as I used to.
Anyways a few interesting things have happened since my last post.
1. Riding the new bike is awesome. Faster times on just about every trail. It's just fun to ride again.
2. I did a race called Over the Hump which took place during the week. Kind of different. The first race I got third in Sport. There were 24 guys in my group and it was a pretty fun race. I suppose I could write a huge post about the race, but I'll pass.
The second race I got my first DNF. That sucked. I was only a few minutes into the first lap when I heard a slow leak in my front tire. I tried to keep riding hoping the noise wasn't a slow leak.
I almost wiped out on a turn when the tire went totally flat.
Took me a while to get the tire off since I forgot my little tire levers. Got it off and then tried to pump up the old tube with my CO2. I wasn't thinking I was in such a hurry.
Realized I should inflate the NEW tube and ended up breaking the valve stem. Now I have two useless tubes and I've been working for maybe 10 minutes. No tubes left and lots of time lost saw me walking to the start and telling them my race was done.
It sucked walking back to my car with my bike. Everyone was giving me looks of pity. Ha.
3. I signed up for a 50 mile race in Temecula on October 1st. Pretty stoked about it. It's three laps on a roughly 17 mile course. I've been feeling rested and I think I'm ready to go for it.
I have some pics from the first Over the Hump race but I'm too lazy to post them right now.
